About this site
ExterminatorCost.com is an independent price-research project with one job: tell you what exterminators actually charge — by pest, by treatment type, and by state — before a salesperson is standing in your kitchen.
Why it exists
Pest control pricing is unusually opaque. In our own survey of 588 licensed companies’ websites, only about 3% published any price at all. The industry standard is the “free inspection” — which is a sales appointment. Most cost articles online recycle the same two databases without saying so, and almost none adjust for where you live.
What we do differently
- Ranges with sources. Every figure traces to a named national guide, a federal dataset, or a real published quote from our own survey — see the methodology.
- State-level math. Prices are adjusted with BLS industry wages and BEA regional price parities for all 50 states and DC, not a hand-wavy “prices may vary.”
- A calculator that matches the tables. The cost calculator runs on the same data file as every table on the site.
- Scam-pattern coverage. Each guide flags the sales tactics we found while researching: free-inspection upsells, evergreen contracts, and inflated add-on repairs.
What we are not
We are not a pest control company and we don’t sell leads to one today. If that ever changes, it will be labeled clearly on the page. Estimates here are for budgeting — your real price always follows an inspection.
